The number of people who have died after testing positive for coronavirus in Northern Ireland rose to 516 after two more deaths were reported.

It comes after no COVID-19 deaths were announced in Northern Ireland on Tuesday.

More from Covid-19

Some 3,779 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate as of 24 May, according to National Records of Scotland (NRS).

Between 18 to 24 May, 230 deaths were registered – a decrease of 105 from the previous week – marking the fourth consecutive week the numbers have fallen in Scotland.

The weekly NRS figures include suspected cases and are recorded differently from the lab-confirmed coronavirus deaths announced daily by the Scottish government.

The Department of Health said 117,013 coronavirus tests were carried out or sent out to be taken in the 24-hour period up to 9am on Wednesday. Some 2,013 of the tests returned positive results.
