THE QUEEN was photographed in public for the first time since lockdown riding one of her beloved ponies in the grounds of Windsor Castle at the weekend. This is the secret message behind the happy photo.

Queen Elizabeth II, 94, has been isolating at Windsor Castle with Prince Philip since the start of lockdown in March. On Sunday she was photographed looking and happy and well as she rode a 14-year-old Fell Pony Balmoral Fern around Home Park.

The sweet picture which shows the Queen beaming in a pink headscarf, a tweed jacket, jodhpurs and riding boots is the first time she has been seen out in public since the start of lockdown.

While the Queen has addressed the nation on two occasions since the coronavirus crisis began, her speeches were delivered from within the confines of Windsor Castle.

The last time she was pictured out and about was when she made the car journey from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle in March.

The photographs of the Queen riding were shared by the Royal Familys official Twitter account which suggests they were meant to send a message.

A body language expert has analysed the photos of the Queen for Express.co.uk and claimed they “illustrate the true leader she is.”

Energy reader Alison Ward told Express.co.uk: “The look of pure delight as the Queen as she is photographed riding her horse for the first time since lockdown.

“The feeling of being free to roam the grounds of her dear Windsor Castle and all on her own with no one by her side must have been exhilarating for the Queen yesterday.”

The photographs were shared on the same day the Government announced an ease in shielding measures for vulnerable people.

As of Monday the vulnerable elderly and Britons with underlying health conditions have been told by the Government they can step outside for the first time since March.

Alison added: “Note these pictures have been taken just as the easing of the lockdown occurs.

“The Queen would have been keen to show that she and her fellow Royal Family members were adhering to Government guidelines.

“Another subtle signal from our Queen illustrating the true leader she is.”
