SIX fire engines and around 40 firefighters have rushed to the scene after an explosion at an industrial unit.
Firefighters rushed to the scene after a huge explosion at an industrial unit on Church Manorway in Erith.
The London Fire Brigade confirmed they were on the scene.
They wrote on Twitter: “Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters have been called to a fire at an industrial unit on Church Manorway in #Erith. More info to follow.”
According reports, two London Air Ambulances have been called to the scene.
Emergency services were called after reports of a loud explosion which shook nearby buildings and flames were seen around 9am.
Smoke can be seen for miles as the blaze continues to ravage the building.
One witness wrote on Twitter: “I was just on site next door contracting at Edible Oils.
“Apparently its the hexane storage area. We seen and heard the big explosion, and then huge flames.”
