A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a male member of staff was stabbed in a hospital.
The Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton was "quickly secured" following the attack this morning, Sussex Police said.
The "apparently isolated and unexplained incident" is not being treated as a terror attack, the force added.
"There is currently nothing to suggest that any other person has been involved or that anyone else is at risk," it said in a statement.
Officers have been working with security staff to make sure that staff and patients are safe.
