A 17-year-old boy has been arrested following the attempted murder of a woman in front of her young child, police in Manchester have said.
The victim, 24, was stabbed as she was walking with her five-year-old son on Rudheath Avenue, Withington, around 1.30pm on Saturday.
She was taken to hospital with knife wounds and is in a stable condition, police said.
Paramedics assessed her son at the scene, but he had no visible injuries.
Following a police investigation, the teenager was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Police say they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the attack.
Detective Inspector John Robb said: "This was a vicious attack in which a woman was stabbed in front of her young son. Our thoughts are with her and her family as she recovers from this shocking ordeal.
