London has witnessed a series of awful crimes at the start of this week.

Between Sunday morning (December 13) and Monday evening (December 14) a series of serious crimes have taken place, including a drive-by shooting in Hackney and a woman and child being found dead in Hounslow.

A man is fighting for his life with a head injury and two others are in hospital after a shooting in Hackney.

Police were called at around 9.15pm on Monday to reports of a drive-by shooting in Middleton Road.

The victims were travelling in a vehicle when shots were fired at them. The other vehicle drove away from the scene before police officers arrived.

One of the men was taken to hospital with a head injury and remains in a life-threatening condition, the Metropolitan Police said.

The two other men were also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Detective Inspector Matthew Webb, from Specialist Crime North (Trident), said: “This was a horrendous incident as a result of a firearms discharge on our streets.

“We need the help of our communities to bring these suspects to justice and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the shooting – or saw a vehicle being driven erratically in the area at the time.”

Woman and child found dead in Hounslow

A woman and two-year-old were found dead in Hounslow on Monday afternoon.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service shortly after 4pm to an address in Old Meadow Lane.

A 25-year-old woman and the child were pronounced dead at the scene.

“The woman and the girl were related to each other,” a spokesperson for the Met Police said.

“Next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

“An investigation is underway led by detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command (Homicide) . While the investigation is still in its early stages, officers do not currently believe anyone else was involved in this incident.”

One killed and two injured in Harrow

A 23-year-old man was killed in a stabbing on Sunday evening in Harrow.

Two teenagers were also stabbed and are both in hospital receiving treatment.

Police were called to St Anns Road at around 7.15pm and a 23-year-old man was found suffering stab injuries. Sadly, he died at the scene.

“Next of kin have been informed, however we await formal identification,” a spokesperson for the Met Police said.

“A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place on Tuesday (December 15).”

Two further males – aged 17 and 19 years – also suffered stab injuries in the attack. They are both at hospital receiving treatment. Their injuries are not life-threatening.

DI Claire Hine, of Specialist Crime Command [Homicide], said: “This is another tragic incident in which a young man has lost his life.

“We are working tirelessly to establish the circumstances of what happened and find those responsible; and I would appeal for any witnesses to come forward with information they believe may assist the investigation.”

Man killed in moped crash in Barnet

A 29-year-old man was killed in a moped crash in Barnet on Monday night.

Police were called at shortly before 9pm to reports of a collision involving a moped.

The rider died at the scene and his next of kin have been informed, the Met Police said.

“At this stage detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit do not believe any other vehicles to have been involved,” a spokesperson for the force added.

“They are keen to hear from anyone who saw the moped before the incident, or the moments leading up to it.”

No arrests have been made.
