Holidays can be tricky to organise at any time but there’s even more to take into consideration when planning in 2021. It’s hoped that travel can resume in the coming months as the covid vaccine is rolled out across the UK. So when should you book and for where?
Brian Young, managing director at G Adventures, spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk, sharing the latest travel advice.
Young reckons holiday will be back on in just three months, in exciting news for those itching to get away.
“Travellers can confidently book now for travel from March onwards,” he said.
However, this should only be done if booking with a reputable holiday company as you don’t want to take any risks.
“The most important thing when booking is to look for a company that offers flexibility,” explained Young.
“Recent months have shown that restrictions can change quickly, and having the opportunity to be flexible with your booking is key.”
G Adventures, like many tour operators, currently offers a Book with Confidence policy.
“Many airlines are also offering flexible ticket options, which is a great way to protect your money and allows you to move your flight to a later date if needed.”
The expert urged Britons to book their jollies as soon as possible to make the most of all the good deals companies are offering.
“Now is a great time to book,” he said. “Not only is it great to have something to look forward to when morale is low due to lockdown, but there are a number of great deals on offer for travellers wanting to lock in their next adventure at a great price.”
In further good news for travellers, Young said no destination was really off the table.
“As we’ve seen through 2020, a lot can change in six months, with some destinations taking longer to open than others, but I wouldn’t rule out any destinations so long as you have flexible booking options,” he detailed.
“As lockdown is lifted, we expect that travel corridors will be implemented closer to home in the short term, which is why we’ve developed a new collection of European tours for British travellers.
“That said, destinations such as the Maldives and Costa Rica are open for business so if travellers are seeking a long haul adventure, then these are great options.”
Speaking to a human travel agent can be really helpful when you’re working out where to travel.
“Picking a destination and researching what’s on offer is such a great part of the travel journey,” said Young.
“I always say if you’re not sure where to go, then having a conversation with a travel agent is a great place to start.
“Discussing what types of holidays you like, the activities you enjoy and the climate you’re looking for will help them to suggest the best places to visit.
“They will also be clued up on where’s accessible, any restrictions in place and the best times of year to visit.”
