My Mum Tracy Beaker launched on CBBC last night at 5pm. The second and third episodes of this new three-part series will follow at the same time tonight and tomorrow night. But who is the show’s leading star, Dani Harmer?

Dani Harmer, 32, has a net worth of around £2.1million, according to celebrity sites.

It’s a whopping fortune that the actress has amassed by playing the infamous Tracy Beaker, as well as appearing on other TV shows since the early 2000s.

Dani was born in Bracknell in Berkshire and has a younger sister named Betsy, who is a hairdresser.

At the age of seven, Dani won a scholarship to attend Redroofs Theatre School in Berkshire.

Dani made her stage debut at the age of six in the musical The Who’s Tommy at the West End.

Since then she has acted in numerous pantomimes, including Snow White, Peter Pan, Dick Wittington, and Cinderella.

The actress also appeared as an extra in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 2001.

In 2002, Dani’s big break came when she was cast as the lead role in CBBC’s The Story of Tracy Beaker.

The Story of Tracy Beaker continued for five series, finishing in 2005.

In 2010, the legendary character returned to our screens for three series of Tracy Beaker Returns.

Dani’s other TV credits include Trial & Retribution, My Family, Beast, I’m Karen Taylor, and more.

She has also appeared on TV reality and game shows, such as Celebrity Come Dine With Me, Pointless Celebrities, and The Chase: Celebrity Special.

In 2012, Dani was one of the contestants on Strictly Come Dancing, reaching the show’s final with her dance partner Vincent Simone.

As well as being an actress, Dani is a singer.

She released her debut single ‘Free’ in 2009, which was also the theme tune for Dani’s House, a CBBC show that was broadcasted from 2008 to 2012.

In 2018, Dani performed an original Christmas song called ‘Rock with Rudolph’ alongside 26 other celebrities, in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Dani is not married, but lives with her partner Simon Brough.

The couple have a four-year-old daughter named Avarie-Belle.

Dani’s latest career step sees her play an adult Tracy Beaker who is reunited with her childhood friends (or enemies), such as Justine Littlewood.

My Mum Tracy Beaker is based on the Jaqueline Wilson book of the same name, published in 2018.
