A teenager has been arrested after a 20-year-old man was stabbed to death in southeast London amid a spate of stabbings in the capital.

The victim was found with a stab wound to his chest after police were called to reports of a fight in a street in Bexley on Sunday afternoon.

He was taken to an east London hospital where he died later. A 17-year-old has been arrested and remains in custody.

It comes after two men were stabbed outside a butcher's shop in Tottenham on Sunday morning.

The men, aged 40 and 29, were found with knife wounds outside West Green Halal Meat and Groceries store but their injuries are not life-threatening, police said.

Meanwhile, a man was left fighting for his life in hospital after being stabbed in Whitechapel, east London, on Saturday afternoon.

The 34-year-old remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

A section 60 has been put in place until 13.00hrs on Monday, 14 October for the N8 Turnpike Lane area, N15, N17 and N22 following two stabbings in the N15 area. Crime scenes are in place in Herbert Road and Sycamore Gardens. We await an update on the condition of the victims.
