Man charged with rape and murder of Libby Squire

Police have charged a 25-year-old man with the rape and murder of student Libby Squire.

Miss Squire, 21, went missing after a night out with friends in Hull in February and was the subject of an extensive search and rescue operation before her body was found in the Humber Estuary on 20 March.

At least 250 people attended Libby Squire's funeral earlier this month.

Pawel Relowicz has now been charged with raping and murdering her, Humberside Police have said.

Relowicz, a Polish national, had been arrested in August and has now been remanded until his appearance at Hull Magistrates Court next Wednesday.

In a statement, Detective Superintendent Martin Smalley, said: "Pawel Relowicz, 25, has been charged with the rape and murder of 21-year-old Libby Squire in February this year."
