There has been a 25 per cent increase in calls to the National Domestic Abuse helpline since lockdown began on March 23.
Extra funds were announced today to provide help for people fleeing domestic violence during the coronavirus restrictions.
Allegations being made to the Met police are up nine per cent on the same time last year, with 17,275 incidents recorded between March 9 and April 19.
Safe accommodation has already been found for 82 London victims of domestic violence and their children.
Today Mayor Sadiq Khan said he would provide a further £1.5 million in specialist help.
