A woman who lost her memory cries every day when she is told her husband divorced her after she fell ill.
Veronika Mescheryakova’s short-term memory loss means she does not remember her husband walking out on her in November last year.

She has to be told every day that he will not be coming home from work.
The 29-year-old suffers from a degenerative disease called porphyria, which can leave people with severe pain, breathing problems and memory loss.
A few years ago, surgeons tried to stop the onset of the disease, but it didn’t help and her short-term memory steadily got worse.
The disease then started to affect her limbs and she became paralysed from the waist down.
Local media did not report why her husband left her, but pictures show the moment Veronika, from Kazan, Russia, tearily reacts to learning about her lost love.
Veronika’s mother reportedly hopes that she will one day be back together with her ex-husband.
Her tragic story has created widespread sympathy and support among Russian readers.
Vyacheslav Petrov wrote: ‘I feel so sorry for her that I want to cry.’
While Andrey Schulz, added: ‘Maybe they should tell her that she was the one who left him.’
Veronika’s mother is also helping her with physiotherapy in the hope she will learn to walk again.
