A 22-year-old man has died after he was hit by a car which then failed to stop in West Bromwich this morning.
The man was hit by the car around 2.40am on Trinity Way near the town centre.

He was seriously injured in the crash but later died in hospital.
A worker at the nearby Red Leaf Cafe told Birmingham Live: ‘We got in this morning to the road closed.
‘We asked police what had happened and all they said was there had been an incident.
‘But then as the morning went on everyone who came in was saying its an accident and someone has been knocked down.’
Shops and businesses near the scene remain closed while police continue to investigate.

West Midlands Police said in a statement: ‘Officers were called at around 2.40am to Trinity Way.
‘The victim, aged 22, was seriously injured and later died in hospital.

‘The investigation is in its early stages, and police have been at the scene all morning to identify potential witnesses and CCTV.
