A tourist has died after two parachutists collided in mid-air and one was sent hurtling to the ground in Mexico.
In video footage of the shocking incident, two people can be seen gliding through the air as they come in to land on a popular tourist beach in Puerto Escondido, a resort on Mexico’s Pacific coast in the state of Oaxaca.

The 43-year-old woman, identified as Ursula, was filmed flying across the screen from right to left.
Slightly above her, coming in from the opposite side, is another parachutist who accidentally crashes into the woman’s parachute.
The impact flattens the device, making the tourist drop from the sky.
Because the parachute did not have enough time to right itself, the middle-aged tourist from Mexico City hit the beach below.
She was rushed to a medical centre, however later succumbed to her injuries.

The victim’s family are now accusing the company Skydive Puerto Escondido, of lack of safety and for disassociating itself from the accident.
Family members said that tourists ‘have to sign a non-liability disclosure that removes the company from all responsibility’.
The video has been widely circulated by social and local media and netizens were shocked by the footage.

Alejandro Meza said: ‘It is incredible that these services do not have safety procedures in place to prevent this kind of thing from happening.
‘Even if they sign a non-liability form, the authorities should investigate the company responsible, because it is obvious that these tourists had no control over what they were doing.’
Metro.co.uk has contacted Skydive Puerto Escondido for comment.
