Its been confirmed that TV presenter Dale Winton died of natural causes, following a coroner investigation.
The Supermarket Sweep hosts long-time agent revealed the news yesterday following much speculation about the cause of his passing.
“The coroner investigating the death of Dale Winton has found death by natural causes,” his long-time agent Jan Kennedy announced.
Dale was found dead at his London home in April at the age of 62.
His funeral was held one month later on what would have been his 63rd birthday and was attended by several famous friends including David Walliams, Martine McCutcheon and Piers Morgan.
Following the news of his sudden death, some of Dales close friends spoke out to deny speculation that he may have committed suicide.
“I just think its so sad when people say he took his own life,” Loose Women star Gloria Hunniford said. “So many people have said, Its such a shame he committed suicide.
“But he didnt. He did not commit suicide and Im keen to set the record straight.”
Before the coroners investigation Dales death was treated as unexplained by Scotland Yard but not suspicious.
The popular star hadnt been seen on screen as much in recent years and in 2016 he admitted during an appearance on Loose Women that hed been battling depression.
“Listen, there are worse things in the world – but I had depression and I didnt realise,” he explained.
“I always thought, get over yourself. But my mum died of it. It exists and anybody out there who has had it knows it exists. I didnt want to put one foot in front of the other but for a couple of really good friends.”
Dale was known for hosting many hit shows over the years including Supermarket Sweep, Hole In The Wall and National Lottery: In It To Win It.
He recently fronted a series for Channel 5 called Dale Wintons Florida Fly Drive, which the final episodes of aired in June.
