NEW DELHI: The Nifty Metal index was trading 0.76 per cent up at 3,449.65 around 11:37 am on Tuesday with most of its components trading in the green.
Shares of APL Apollo Tubes (up 6.13 per cent), Jindal Steel & Power (up 1.88 per cent), Tata Steel (up 1.53 per cent), Welspun Corp (up 1.32 per cent) and MOIL (up 1.27 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.
Jindal Stainless (Hisar) (up 1.02 per cent), National Aluminium Company (up 0.97 per cent), Vedanta (up 0.88 per cent) and Hindustan Copper (up 0.86 per cent) too, were among top performers.
Hindalco Industries (down 0.45 per cent)was the only loser in the index at that time.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 61.25 points at 10,573.75, while BSE Sensex was up 252.89 points at 35,117.99 at that time.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.
Shares of Ashok Leyland, SBI, YES Bank, ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda, Axis Bank, Ibull HousingFin, Infosys, Tata Motors, L&T Fin Holding, IndusInd Bank, ONGC, ITC, Idea Cellular, HPCL and Hindalco Inds. were among most traded shares on the NSE.
