With the winter chill drawing in, were already counting down the weeks until Dancing on Ice 2019!
Luckily for the more impatient among us, ITV have officially released a new update – revealing the very first two celebrity and professional skater pairings!
Its been confirmed that Coronation Street actress Jane Danson will take to the ice alongside Sylvain Longchambon, and former X Factor star Saara Aalto will join Hamish Gaman in the rink.
This will be the second time Sylvain has trained a Corrie star – after falling in love with his 2013 partner, actress Samia Ghadie.
Clearly thrilled that her own stint on the ice would be keeping with Coronation street tradition, Jane shared a happy message online.
“Super excited its been announced that my #dancingonice partner is the brilliant @slongchambon,” she said.
“Absolutely thrilled @realsamia – cant wait.”
Replying to Janes message, Sylvain added: “Yayyy!! Lets smash that ice!!! I hope youre ready for some crazy moves!”
Samia and Sylvain eventually went on to tie the knot after their stint on the show, and now share three-year-old son Yves together.
The couple, who recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary, have since revealed what it was like to fall in love on the show.
Unsurprisingly, 35-year-old Samia described her experience as “life changing”.
“Weirdly, its the one reality show I always said I wouldnt do because it was so dangerous,” she revealed in OK! magazine.
“Im very happy that I did do it now,” she joked. Samia then added: “If we hadnt been skating partners Id never have met Sylvain.”
Opening up about her husbands profession, Samia said: “Skating is Sylvains passion and its what he was trained to do for his whole life,
“I feel so proud watching him do something hes really good at.”
Dancing on Ice returns to ITV in January of 2019.
