Snapping into holiday mode quickly can be tricky and just when you’re feeling a little more relaxed it’s usually time to get packing again.
So if you’ve only got a few days to spare, why not explore the wonder of Disneyland® Paris?
While everyone knows its magical allure for children, few realise how much it can be for grown-ups too.
Think first class designer shopping, spas, luxury hotels, fine dining, pulse-racing rides and plenty of nostalgia over your favourite childhood characters. What could be better?
Plus, it is only a short journey by plane or Eurostar and can be combined with a stop-off in the romantic capital of France for an added injection of culture.
So, here are a few reasons why booking a break to Disneyland® Paris could be the most fun you’ll have in 2018.
Let your hair down and take a spin on one of the dozens of attractions (more than 50 in fact) at Disneyland® Paris.
Whether you shiver your timbers aboard the Pirates of the Caribbean® boat cruise or brave a stomach-churning plunge 13 floors down on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror®, there’s non-stop fun to suit everyone.
You’ll find yourself travelling to another realm with more intergalactic immersions than ever before, including new Star Wars character encounters such as coming face-to-face with Darth Vader.
The classic Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain attraction has also been commandeered by the Rebel Alliance, blasting passengers through a swarm of Imperial TIE fighters before doing battle with a menacing Star Destroyer.
Meet your childhood heroes
Encountering your favourite Disney characters will be sure to bring a smile to your face, whatever your age.
Various character meet and greets take place daily throughout the parks, so have your cameras at the ready.
For an extra special experience, you can invite Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck over to your table at the Inventions restaurant, within the Disneyland® Hotel.
The character dining experiences take place both at lunch and dinner while brunch is served with Disney characters every Sunday, from 1pm to 3pm.
Or why not get up-close-and-personal with some serious power players? As part of the epic 25th anniversary celebrations there will be a special Marvel Summer of Super Heroes season from the 30th June till the 30th September 2018.
Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Spider-Man, Star-Lord and Black Widow will appear for the first time ever – and fans can get to meet and greet their favourite superheroes after watching the epic shows.
In the lap of luxury
Disneyland® Paris has seven on-site hotels, which have top-of-the-range facilities including 24-hour room service, free Wi-Fi and delicious breakfast buffets.
Don’t forget your bathing suit if you choose to check in to Disney’s Sequoia Lodge – inspired by America’s awe-inspiring National Parks – as there are themed indoor and outdoor pools for you to enjoy after a day of thrills and spills.
And to feel like a true Disney prince or princess, upgrade your room to a suite. At the Disneyland® Hotel, the spacious rooms have been themed around popular characters including Tinker Bell, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. Meanwhile, over at Disney’s Hotel New York, the suites are named after former presidents in keeping with its all-American theme.
All stays at the Disney Hotels come with the possibility of getting Extra Magic Time meaning you can gain special access to the parks before they open to the public.
Indulge in some retail therapy
With a shopping outlet on the doorstep of Disneyland® Paris and more than 60 stores inside the Parks, you’ll definitely have time for a spot of retail therapy.
La Vallée Village Chic Outlet has dozens of designer brands including Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana and Burberry at temptingly low prices while over at World of Disney in Disney Village, the biggest gift store at Disneyland® Paris, you’ll find an array of merchandise from light-up ears to plush toys and cosy pyjama sets.
Just remember to leave some space in your suitcase so you can take a bit of Disney magic home with you.
Feast like a king – or queen
At Disneyland® Paris you won’t be stuck for choice when it comes to food.
Across both parks there are more than 60 places to eat, with everything from tantalising Tex-Mex to moreish Middle Eastern cuisine to satisfy your tummy rumblings.
If you’re looking to push the boat out a little, head to one of the fine dining spots like Walt’s American restaurant, where you can tuck into some of Walt Disney’s favourite recipes and see some of his original movie sketches.
Over at the California Grill, there’s an equally delicious array of artfully-styled dishes on offer, including a lobster tempura salad and grilled Angus beef cooked in a red wine sauce. To top it off, a creamy lemon cheesecake and oozing chocolate fondant make for a tough dessert choice.
Combine with a trip to Paris
Disneyland® Paris is just a 40-minute train ride from the French capital, so getting into the City of Lights to hit some of its most famous sites is easy.
And there are various excursion packages available from the Parks, covering the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower and the stunning Notre Dame Cathedral, with return transportation included.
Many of the Disney trip options include comprehensive city tours with commentary in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.
Dazzling shows and unforgettable fireworks
If you’ve never seen the fireworks at Disneyland® Paris, then you’re in for a real treat.
At park close, there is a 40-minute spectacle lighting up the night sky.
Last year, the Disney Illuminations show was revamped to coincide with the parks’ 25th anniversary and now there are dazzling laser displays to complement the incredible fireworks.
The awe-inspiring special effects bring classic Disney tales to life, as well as new stories like Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean, with the beautiful Sleeping Beauty Castle at centre stage.
Also not to be missed is the Disney Stars on Parade extravaganza, another new addition for the parks’ anniversary.
Vibrant costumes and toe-tapping musical numbers help transport you to the worlds of Disney, where you’re guaranteed to have blizzards of Frozen fun and a roaring good time with the Lion King crew. Watch out for the fire-breathing dragon, which unleashes a flurry of flames to get things kicked off.
Indulge your senses
To further aid your state of relaxation, there are luxurious spa services available at Disneyland® Paris.
Over at the Celestia Spa at The Disneyland® Hotel there are rejuvenating facials, stress-relieving massages and manicures on the menu. There’s also a ‘Romantique’ package for couples, with two massages and facial treatments included.
You’ll be polished up like princes and princesses in no time.
Disneyland® Paris boasts great transport links which means everything is pretty much seamless from door-to-door.
The Parks are just a two-hour-45-minute ride from London St Pancras via Eurostar and a speedy train journey from Paris.
If you’re coming in by plane, Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports have Magical Shuttles, which provide regular coach services to and from the heart of the magic.
Up to 25% off on your hotel and park tickets plus a FREE half board Meal Plan if you book by the 25th April 2018
