TRAVEL: Ryanair is launching flights to a popular stag-do destination

Tickets for flights to Kiev and Lviv, in Ukraine, went on sale yesterday with prices as little as £19.99.

The low-budget airline planned to start flying to the country last year, but had walked away from the deal over an alleged attempt to protect the market for Ukrainian competitors.

So from October, Brits will be able to fly to Ukraine from London Stansted.

Ryanair’s new flights, which also include routes to the country from places like Barcelona and Stockholm, will deliver up to 800,000 travellers to Kiev and Lviv every year.

Brits tempted by the cheap flights will also be attracted by the bargains found once they arrive in the country.

Last year’s GoPro Beer Price Index placed the average price for a pint at £1.15 and in some places it can still be bought for as little as 50p.

A three-course meal at a mid-range restaurant will cost around £15.26 and a pack of Marlboro cigarettes is just 79p.

Meanwhile, three-star hotel rooms can be found for £15 a night and hostel beds from just £3 a night.

The country has been a popular destination among Brits who want a weekend of cheap booze and partying.

Tony from Ukraine Adventures, which arranges a range of holidays from the UK to Kiev that includes stag and hen dos, said the country have been hosting Brits for many years.

The new Ryanair flights could signal the beginning of a new boom for the country.

He said: “Guys have been going to Ukraine a lot for many, many years now, not only for stag dos but also to support their UK football teams who travel to Ukraine to play in various football competitions.

“The main reason why guys like going to Ukraine is because the women are some of the most beautiful in the world and they are in abundance.”
