Charlies Bronson smothered himself in butter and tried to start a ‘rumble’ on Valentine’s Day, it has been reported.
The notorious prisoner, 65, who now goes by the name Charles Salvador, was allegedly angry that he was not allowed a visit from his new wife Paula, 37, to give her a Valentine’s Day card.
Using a tactic he had used once before, he supposedly stripped naked and buttered himself up to make it harder for his the guards at HMP Frankland to get hold of him.
A source told the Mirror: ‘He was wanting a rumble but he ended up being the only one who got hurt – not like the old days.
‘He pulled out half a pound of butter and took his clothes off and shouted and smiled to the officer in charge, “Oi Gov, you’d better ring your mates as there’s gonna be a bit of a rumble”. He then started spreading the butter all over him.
‘There was lots of ducking and diving but the guards got control of Charlie before he could do any damage. He was restrained on the floor and then sent back to his cell.’
Bronson, who has been dubbed Britain’s most violent prisoner, reportedly injured his shoulder during the fracas.
He had previously smothered himself in butter in 2014 to take on officers at HMP Full Sutton in York when he became upset that Arsenal won the FA Cup.
The prisoner was moved to HMP Frankland after he attacked a governor after a row over his wedding photos.
He married ex-Coronation Street actress Paula Williamson in November last year.
During their first dance, he ripped his bride’s wedding dress before he serenaded her with a version of Frank Sinatra’s My Way.
