Starting today, searches for key phrases like “jobs near me” or “banking jobs” on Google will return results inside a new feature that shows jobs across the UK from popular sites.

Users will be able to see information like reviews and ratings of an employer, average salary and what their commute would look like using Google Maps.

Even if youre not looking at the moment, you'll be able to save jobs that you like the sound of, or turn on notifications to hear about new jobs popping up based on your preferences.

“Today, more and more people are turning to Google to find information about their next role,” said Google Search product manager Joy Xi.

“We have a long history of using our technology to connect people with information, so were excited to bring a new job search experience to Google to connect people in the U.K. to job opportunities.”

Already available in the US, any provider can make sure their jobs appear in the service by marking their listings to show up in the feature. The company has already teamed with with Reed for the launch, but you'll also be seeing listings from places like Guardian Jobs, Haymarket and Totaljobs.

Reed's director of marketing Mark Smith said that early signs from its testing of the feature show that jobseekers arriving at their site from Google are more application-ready, and is anticipating a "positive impact on the quality and volume of applications" it can supply to its recruitment clients.

Since launching last year, Google has seen 130 per cent more companies showing jobs in Google Search.
