Travelling abroad is usually an exciting experience, but getting to the destination can be uncomfortable.

Travel blogger Gilbert Ott says he uses an app called ExpertFlyer to keep an eye on which seats are taken right up to the day of the flight.
In a blog post on God Save The Points, he wrote: “[The app] allows users to view up-to-the-moment seating charts and, better yet, allows users to set alerts for when and if their ideal seat pops up
“A smart flyer (which you clearly are) sees the cabin as a game of musical chairs.
“If the best seat in the house is available immediately – book it. If not, get the next best available seat – and set free alerts on ExpertFlyer for any and all the seats youd prefer.
“By doing so, you can keep improving up until final boarding.
“Once everyone else has settled their fate, you can often stand in the boarding line with your app open seeing if final seating assignments have created any opportunities – like an entire row to yourself.
“It really does happen.”
FLIGHT-MARE: Avoid people invading your personal space by booking the middle seat
If you don't have time to spend ages on an app, you can improve your chances of getting an entire row is by booking the two outside seats.
While you run the risk of being separated from your travel buddy, people are less likely to book the middle seat if there are other options available.
In an ideal told this then allows the two passengers on either side to stretch out and use the middle seat.

If youre travelling solo the opposite technique works. When travelling alone its best to book the middle seat as couples and families are less likely to chose seats that arent next to each other.
The middle seats at the back of the plane tend to be the least popular, so booking now of these could result in having an entire row to yourself.
