Stress can affect many people. It can be caused by a variety of situations, from the physical environment to relationships and work. It can also be caused by major life changes. While stress can be harmful to your health, there are ways to cope with it. Some of these strategies include eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and limiting your use of alcohol and drugs.

Stress causes your body to produce certain hormones, one of which is adrenaline. Adrenaline speeds up the heartbeat and increases blood flow to the muscles. It also causes your stomach to feel uneasy. However, this reaction should subside once the stressful situation is over. If the symptoms continue for a long time, you may have too much stress.

There are many different causes of stress, and each one can have a different effect on the body. In addition to the physiological response, stress can cause physical changes, such as gastrointestinal upset and headache. In addition to the physical effects, stress can cause psychological problems. Some of these reactions can be harmful, and can even lead to a heart attack or peptic ulcer.

Acute stress occurs when a stressful situation occurs within minutes to hours. Acute stress is often temporary and ebbs and flows quickly. It’s caused by an upsetting event, such as an argument or a deadline. Once the argument is resolved or the deadline is met, acute stress disappears. Acute stress is manageable with a bit of effort, but chronic stress can result in long-term physical and psychological damage.
