Neighbours heard people screaming for help as a man was stabbed to death this afternoon in Merseyside.
The victim, whose age is yet to be confirmed, was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Officers were called to the scene in Kirbky shortly before 1pm and a heavy police presence remains.
The stabbing may have followed a brief argument near a row of shops, reports the Liverpool Echo.
A woman who lives close to the scene said: I heard some shouting from my garden but couldnt hear what was said so didnt think anything of it.
And then I heard people screaming for help. It was awful.
Forensics officers are examining the area and surrounding roads have been closed to the public.
